You will lift the chains that
bind me
you free me from my bondage
you free me from the trap
I’ve
fallen in
to cleanse me from the
mud
you take me from the trap.
You heal my wounds.
Praise you Jesus. I praise you Father God
You will lift the chains that
bind me
you free me from my bondage
you free me from the trap
I’ve
fallen in
to cleanse me from the
mud
you take me from the trap.
You heal my wounds.
Praise you Jesus. I praise you Father God
God, that is true
I did not ask what I should do
I did not involve You in my plans
I did not place it in Your hands
I think to hold it all on my own
with my power I don’t want to hear You groan
under the weight of my burden
I know You are mighty, beyond compare
//
Your strength surpasses mine like a Tiger’s surpasses
a strand of hair
I do my part,
I bring what is needed,
I bring what I can
I place it in your hand.
A dove that flies, a dove with teeth and
Eyes of a hawk
tears of glass, jagged, sharp
they cut the ground to shreds.
What we forget about sheep and what small dogs teach us in their place:
How easily they hurt themselves
and how cute they are.
How valuable they are.
How precious to us, not just for what they give us,
but for who and what they are;
precious,
and valued,
and just as adorable.
//
Small dogs may be smarter
and do not need to be rescued,
as often
but just like sheep
the little ones wouldn’t
really survive and
thrive
on their own without us.
We don’t have sheep no more.
not everyone knows
how they behave.
We think of sheep,
we know they need guidance, we know they need a shepherd.
//
God gave us something else instead
God gave us tiny dogs
only dogs are smarter
This says much for how stupid sheep are
//
We forget how easily their lost.
We forget how easily they get stuck in the mud
we forget how easily they wander away
we forget how easily their hurt
how easily they are cutting traps
we forget how easily they are hunted

Love is Self-denying
deny the self, God and your spouse lift
you up.
You focus on two others, but two
People are focused on you.
It’s the job of your spouse and
God to be
concerned with
you and about you,
That’s Not your
job, it’s theirs.
disturbed by disturbance
something I caused
They scream and shout
stomp and pout
almost start a fight.
I lean on God’s strength to get through the day
to regulate my energy
to make everything okay
an even-keel
a gentle mood
cleanup is a breeze
just don’t forget the food
The first time I caused a guest, Our clients, to scream and get upset.
I gave them homemade syrup
on from scratch pancakes
It wasn’t what he thought
it wasn’t what he wanted.
He screamed and stomped.
I washed them off. He
calms down and had cereal
too.
pleasure we can imagine with the flesh
and weddings we conceive of,
the excitement of Jesus for His Bride
is beyond imagination,
eagerness beyond compare.
