Bridegroom’s reminder

building tension,

boiling

must stay calm, not too eager

stay focused on the Now, in this present moment

enjoy the feast when it comes but it is not Now.

It is not here, yet

things must be soft, and dry,

for now.

/

sleep must happen.

intimacy shared is not yet

a phantom ache fills sacks

overcooked pasta that wants to become rigid

Breathe deeply,

keep the blood flowing.

ease the tension

Breathe deeply

relax the muscles

that day is not today.

That moment is not now

focus on the now

It happens

When God says a thing will happen,

It happens.

It may take a month,

It may take a year,

It happens.

It may take over 100 years,

It happens.

It may take several hundred years,

But when God says a thing will happen,

It happens.

When God makes a promise,

He keeps it.

When God says He will do a thing

He does it.

God makes no threats.

God only promises.

When God says “A thing will happen,”

It happens.

It Happens.

It HAPPENS!

prayer 1

Prayer.

A glorious, marvelous thing

to speak to our King:

Directly,

to approach boldly,

to bring petition, request, anguish, and joy, and praise.

/

Many forgotten reverence,

but only because of the boy child that was born,

which God gave to us, His son

/

He shared that he may have siblings

and he’d be the first in all things

that we may pray

and approach

and connect

and speak to him.

whether through sound or thought.

He knows our heart.

He knows our joy or despair.

He has walked with us there

untitled poem

Christ receives me, catches the ball

I fall

tumbling end over end

I remind myself of this

it columns the fear

dear of disobedience

dear of large acts of faith

fear of joy

fear of change

fear of loss

I am in his hands. Faith early

Faith is wings unfurling

stepping off a cliff

waiting for the wind to catch you
