Speak

words tumble they jumble,

they fall out my mouth

they collide and stumble

//

cough into gravity

crash and explode

bits of coherence —

Splinter

every witness

//

I tried to gather them together–my words

paint the picture I meant

gather the fragments

It’s already turning to cement.

//

Some must be left where they’ve fallen.

I cannot take them back.

I can rearrange,

reassemble;

but they’re setting fast.

//

They’ve already hit the eardrums

of those nearby,

some understand

some shake their head.

All just tilt their head and sigh.

//

a jumble of words,

incoherent

a mess

fragments of words
